is there a parade this year? 2011
There will be no parade this year, however, we are concentrating out efforts into one area that includes the honor service, the “Laying of the Wreaths”, and the 14th Armored Re-Creations Division, and reception. This event will be held at one of the community’s larger facilities to accommodate the US Representative, State Senators and State Representatives, color guards, and various organizations to march in the “Procession of Colors”, which opens the service.
We have the use of the facility at 5720 Taylorsville Road, Elk Creek… Spencer Christian Church. The event begins at 10 AM prompt.
Of course, there will be a public reception for our veterans as usual.
All veterans who wish to march in the procession will need to line up with the color and honor guards who will lead the veterans into the building during the Procession of Colors. Also, the veterans will be given special seating outside for the “Laying of the Wreaths”.
If you wish to personally call, this event is under the direction of Ms. DJ Atkinson-Fee (502-442-5462) and CWO4 Judd, US Army, Ret.
Thank you for your inquiry. We hope to see you there!
